Pastoral Letter 5 March

Friends,

Season’s greetings!

We are in the blessed season of Lent! The word “Lent” means spring. Like the spring season, we pray and aspire that we may become new in Christ. (2 Corinthians 5:17)

Lent is a period of reflecting upon the sacrificial love of Christ who gave his life for the redemption of the humanity. As a token of our love and gratitude to the Lord, we also give some donation towards the Lent appeal. It is an appeal by the Uniting World, which carries out many projects to the suffering humanity, with the help of the partner churches in the world. So the Lent Appeal Envelops are distributed today. Please make use of the envelopes to offer your donation. You can give this donation on any Sunday before Easter. “God loves the cheerful giver.”

Today’s readings (Matthew 4: 1-11) tells about the temptation of Jesus. We are all tempted in one way or another by Satan and by our own desires, but we can attain victory in the name of Jesus.

Please join the 40th Anniversary of the opening our Church. Let us thank God that this worship place had been a beacon light in this area and pray that we may continue to shine for Jesus.

I will conclude my ministry in this month. I will take officially the service on Sunday 26 March. I enjoy serving with you. Please remember us in your prayer as well as the new Pastor Paula.

As so many things are happening, please read “Cross Chat” for more information and your participation.

With love and prayers,

Amos
